Video :: Supermodel Petra Nemcova Turns Tragedy into a “Source Of Positive Light”

Supermodel survives a tsunami and turns tragedy into a positive force for change while bringing hope to children in some of the world’s more impoverished regions.

* Ok, lets get this out of the way first, Petra Nemcova is really, REALLY, attractive.

The Czech-born Petra Němcová is a former supermodel, television host, author, and philanthropist whom was injured in Thailand by a tsunami resulting from the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, while her fiancé the photographer Simon Atlee was killed…. After this tragedy, which she addresses in the above interview, Petra founded the Happy Hearts Fund, a non-profit foundation dedicated to rebuilding schools and restoring hope and opportunity in the lives of children after natural disasters.

The Happy Hearts Foundation helps children to rebuild their lives through the Self-Sustaining School Model, which has three key components: Education, Technology and Sustainability. I can dig it.

* In February 2007, Němcová became a vegan and gave up meat and dairy… there will be a post about this as well, just give me some time, lol!
