Becoming vegan has given me a greater purpose, something bigger than myself to fight for, and fight I will.

You may have been seeing a lot of this guy in the news lately because of his vegan lifestyle.

His name is David Carter, he’s a nose tackle with the Chicago Bears, was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals and played college football at UCLA. He’s listed at 6 foot 5 inches and clocking in a 3 bills. He is also a vegan.

GQ Magazine, the first major media outlet that I saw on this story, did a great piece a couple of days ago but I wanted to know more.

The Real-Life Diet of a Vegan NFL Defensive Lineman – GQ

If you check out his website and his profile, you come to find out that he is a Cali kid, who’s folk owned a BBQ joint. And that he’s pretty much been a giant his whole life. And performed at a high level. So, he knows the difference and he has stuck with this thing. Pretty damn admirable.

One of the things that I think is pretty awesome about the kid is that he isn’t just out here talking about himself and how great he is because he’s a vegan, he out spreading the word and letting the world know the reasons why.

This is what my mans eats everyday:

  • Breakfast: Oatmeal with hemp protein, bananas and berries
  • Snack: 20 ounce smoothie made with cannellini beans, banana, strawberries, and spirulina
  • Lunch: Brown rice and black beans topped with avocado and cashew cheese
  • Snack:Another 20 ounce smoothie
  • Another lunch: More of the brown rice and black bean combo
  • Snack: Another 20 ounce smoothie
  • Dinner: Couscous with onion and garlic, and spinach salad with bell peppers
  • Snack: Another 20 ounce smoothie

He was also on the Rich Roll Podcast about a month ago and shared some really interesting thoughts:

He really is about this life too.

I can honestly say that being vegan is not only the most efficient way to be full-body strong, it’s also the most humane; everyone wins.

He’s got a great website that is chock-full of information, recipes, personal testimony…. you should check it out and follow the guy all around. www.the300poundvegan.com

We visited an #organic #farm the other day. I'm working on my green thumb. #FarmToTable #FreshFood.
