“I didn’t just blindly stop eating meat. I know what I’m doing,” Foster told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports.
Officially a vegan now. We’ll see how this goes. But week one down. So far, so good. Feels wonderful.

I love seeing more and more big time athletes deciding to take care of their bodies in non traditional ways. Arian FOster isnt the first NFL guy to start down this road, but he definitely is probably the most high profile guy that has gone vocal about it. Tony Gonzalez sorted out his diet a few years back. I’m sure there are a lot of guys who are watching exactly what they eat, but you would be hard pressed to find many leading rushers of the NFL, in their prime, drastically changing their diets to something like vegetarianism let alone vegan. Ironically its something that he has been thinking about for a while it seems, saying that its been since high school, but this time around it was simple… ““If you improve your health, you improve your performance,” said Foster.
Those are rules for life. The older I get, the more that I realize that everything in life is about what you put in your mouth. Period. Put it clean burning fuel, your burn clean… if you dont, you are fucked, and your body lets you know it.
Its crazy though, but it seems like Arian was getting a lot of fade early on, but as the season approaches and he came to training camp very fit, everyone is starting to calm down now. His coach is alright with it… so I’m alright with it!
“If that’s the route Arian wants to go, he’s got to handle it and keep playing great football like he’s always done for our team,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. “He’s had a great off-season he looks really good today and we’ve got people in place to help him. But the key is to get out here and do your job and that’s what we all expect him to do.”
Earlier this year, Arian shared his thoughts on nutrition:
