The Hundred-Foot Journey is an upcoming film directed starring Helen Mirren, Manish Dayal, Juhi Chawla and Om Puri based on a novel The Hundred-Foot Journey written by Richard C. Morais that tells the story of Hassan Kadam (played by Manish Dayal) and his family after they are displaced from their native India.
They settle in a small French town to open a restaurant, but once the ice-queen proprietress of the French restaurant across the street, Madame Mallory (played by Helen Mirren), catches wind of it, she gives them hell.
The film is produced by DreamWorks Pictures in association with Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake and will be released by Touchstone Pictures on August 8, 2014. You know those first two names obviously, but the third, Juliet Blake is a British-American film, television and web producer – a content producer and member of the Media Team for TED Talks. She’s about that action, boss.
I happened to be at CHEF today, a really good movie by the way, and saw the end of this trailer as I was walking in. Looks like it may be pretty decent and is something that I will want to see.
