Beatle Sir Paul McCartney made a song for ‘Meat Free Monday’

A lyric video to celebrate the Meat Free Monday campaign’s fifth anniversary.

Sir Paul McCartney, legend, philanthropist, kaillionaire, has been a vegetarian for a while now. He was one of the first in a long list of celebs that I can recall living that life, and apparently his late wife, Linda, was the one who got him in to it way back in 1975. He’s now a vegan and has written extensively about what linda meant to him and how his vegetarianism and now veganism is a tribute to her legacy.

Pursuant to this, and among other things he has done, he along with others launched a Meat Free Monday campaign in 2009 in order to encourage people to look at their diets and make a meaningful change by giving up meat just one day a week. This song dropped today in support of it.

Its a song about giving up meat. Written by a Beatle. Written by Sir Paul McCartney and to be honest, its pretty friggin good. The beauty of this, is that the MFM is not just about the meat, it tells you about how much the rest of the planet is affected by the production of meat and how much change we can make if we all cut our consumption. I dig it.
