I used to love the Cheesecake Factory.
I even applied to be a manager there and was close to getting hired but ended up taking a job at another restaurant, years ago.
That Cajun Jambalaya Pasta is literally the greatest meal I ever had at a chain restaurant this side of the Bourbon Street Steak at the ‘bees and the Brewhouse Nachos (original) at BJ’s.
But, then, they had to put the calorie count on the menu and I soon came to realize that the cajun jam had just under a million calories. Seriously. It was like, number 3 or 4 on the Mens Health list of most unhealthy things you can order at a restaurant list.
I think they know that allllllll if not most of their food is mad unhealthy, so they are doing something to hit out at health conscious millennials, adding superfoods to the menu.
According to a presser, they will be adding things like kale, blueberries, almonds, salmon and quinoa.
In a call with analysts last week, following the company’s second-quarter earnings report Overton didn’t offer details, but he said Superfoods dishes would include “nutrient-rich, high quality, powerhouse ingredients.”
Good on The Cheesecake Factory for this one. Teaming this up with the chain’s “SkinnyLicious” menu, they are on the right path of making us CF lovers long time customers for a while.
